If you're in UK reseller groups, you've probably noticed more people asking for “TikTok pallets”. We're seeing it regularly now, particularly from sellers looking for mixed stock for Whatnot and other marketplaces.
So what actually is one?
Despite the name, a TikTok pallet isn't something you buy from TikTok. It's a term being used in the wholesale and liquidation trade for bulk stock said to have originated from TikTok Shop, typically returns and other stock making its way into the secondary market.
That can mean a very mixed pallet: gadgets, homeware, beauty, clothing, toys and all sorts of products that have been selling through TikTok Shop.
And that's partly why live sellers are interested.
A Whatnot seller, for example, doesn't necessarily need 100 units of the same product. A mixed pallet can provide dozens of different things to run through a show. Other products might be better suited to eBay, Vinted, TikTok Shop, car boots or bundling together.
But we'd avoid getting too excited by the words “TikTok pallet”.
If someone tells you a pallet costs £500 and contains £2,000 of stock, that doesn't mean there's £1,500 profit waiting for you. Some products may be returns, damaged, incomplete or simply difficult to sell. You also have delivery, fees, packaging and your own time to consider.
The better question is: if this pallet arrived tomorrow, could you actually shift it?
Where are people finding them?
You'll see TikTok returns advertised by some UK pallet and liquidation wholesalers, but sellers are also searching eBay, Facebook wholesale groups and reseller communities. You can also use the Reseller Vault UK supplier directory to find UK returns, clearance and general stock suppliers.
Just be particularly vigilant at the moment.
When hundreds of resellers start publicly asking for the same type of stock, scammers notice too. Someone replying “DM me” to your Facebook post isn't automatically a scammer, but don't let the excitement of finding a TikTok pallet make you abandon the checks you'd normally make before sending someone hundreds of pounds.
And don't become obsessed with the TikTok name either.
A decent Amazon returns pallet, clearance lot or mixed wholesale bundle that suits your customers could be a far better buy than a poor pallet with “TikTok” written in the title.
The source of the stock matters. But knowing how you're going to sell it matters more.
