Whatnot has launched Weekly Bundling for sellers in the UK, Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Japan and the Netherlands.
The feature allows an opted-in buyer’s purchases from the same seller to be combined into one weekly shipment. This could encourage repeat purchases and reduce unnecessary postage—but sellers must manage bundled and standard orders separately.
Here’s how it works.
How Weekly Bundling works
When both the buyer and seller have Weekly Bundling switched on, eligible purchases made throughout the week are grouped into one shipment.
Bundles close automatically at midnight on Sunday, based on the seller’s local time. Any purchase made after that point starts or joins the following week’s bundle.
Marketplace purchases can also be combined with livestream orders, provided:
- The buyer and seller have both opted in.
- The purchases are made within the same weekly bundling period.
- The orders use the same delivery address.
How sellers can switch it on
Weekly Bundling must currently be enabled through the desktop Seller Hub—not through the mobile app.
Go to:
Seller Hub → Shipments → Open the sidebar → Weekly Bundling → Toggle ON
Buyers must also opt in. They can do this through:
Settings → Payments & Shipping → Weekly Bundling → Toggle ON
They can also enable it during an eligible seller’s livestream by opening their Wallet and switching on Weekly Bundling.
Important: not every order will be bundled
Switching on Weekly Bundling does not mean every buyer’s order will automatically be held until the end of the week.
Only purchases from buyers who have also opted in will be bundled. Sellers will therefore need to manage two types of shipments:
- Standard orders, which must be shipped within two business days of purchase.
- Weekly Bundles, which remain open until Sunday night or until the seller generates the shipping label.
Be careful when generating labels after a livestream. If you generate a label for an open Weekly Bundle, the bundle will close and later purchases will not be added to it.
What to do after each livestream
After every show:
- Go to Shipments and select the relevant livestream.
- Generate labels for standard orders.
- Make sure you skip any open Weekly Bundles.
- Securely set aside the items belonging to bundled buyers.
Standard orders must still be shipped within two business days. Weekly bundled purchases should be stored safely and kept clearly organised until their bundles close.
What to do at the end of the week
Weekly Bundles close automatically at midnight on Sunday.
Sellers then have two business days—until the end of Tuesday—to ship them.
To find your bundled orders:
- Open Shipments on a computer.
- Select All Shows & Marketplace.
- Apply the Only Show Weekly Bundles filter.
- Select Needs Label to view closed bundles awaiting labels.
Closed bundles are shown in orange. You can manually select these shipments and generate their labels in bulk.
Whatnot recommends generating labels on Monday morning, before selling again. This should make it easier to distinguish last week’s closed bundles from new bundles that are still active.
Remember that packing slips will not be available until the shipping labels have been generated.
Does Weekly Bundling mean free shipping?
No—not necessarily.
The buyer pays for one combined shipment, but their shipping cost can increase if additional purchases move the parcel into a higher weight bracket.
For example, if another purchase takes the total parcel weight from the 500g bracket into the 1kg bracket, the buyer may be charged the difference.
Weekly Bundling can reduce duplicate shipping charges, but it does not guarantee that every additional item will ship for free.
What happens if a buyer opts in after purchasing?
If a buyer switches on Weekly Bundling and then makes another purchase during the same livestream, all their orders from that livestream should be included in the bundle.
If they opt in but do not make another purchase during that livestream, the earlier order will remain a standard shipment. Eligible purchases made during future livestreams that week can then be bundled.
Will Weekly Bundling affect seller shipping times?
Weekly Bundling should not negatively affect the seller’s shipping-time calculation.
For bundled orders, shipping time is measured from when the bundle closes—not from the date of the buyer’s first purchase.
Once the bundle closes, the seller has two business days to ship it.
What if the buyer changes their address?
If a buyer changes their delivery address during the week, Whatnot will create a separate bundle for purchases made using the new address.
Earlier purchases will still be shipped to the original address, so sellers should check each label carefully and avoid manually combining orders with different delivery details.
What happens during a Sunday-night livestream?
If you are still streaming when the clock reaches midnight on Sunday, purchases made after midnight will count towards the buyer’s next weekly bundle.
This means purchases made during the same livestream could potentially fall into two different bundling periods.
How does this affect Early Pay?
Sellers with Early Pay receive their payout when the shipping label is generated.
Because Weekly Bundle labels are normally generated after the bundle closes, Early Pay sellers may receive payment later than they would for an individually shipped order.
Weekly Bundling checklist for sellers
Before enabling the feature, make sure you can:
- Separate bundled purchases from standard orders.
- Store buyers’ items safely throughout the week.
- Clearly label or organise each buyer’s purchases.
- Avoid accidentally generating labels for open bundles.
- Process closed bundles promptly on Monday.
- Ship all closed bundles by the end of Tuesday.
- Use a computer to manage and generate labels.
Is Weekly Bundling worth using?
For regular live sellers, Weekly Bundling could be a genuinely useful feature. It gives buyers another reason to return to the same seller throughout the week and may make purchasing several lower-value items more economical.
The main challenge is organisation. Sellers who run frequent shows will need a reliable system for separating, storing and identifying each buyer’s items.
If you decide to switch it on, start with clearly marked storage areas or containers for bundled buyers and build Monday-morning label processing into your weekly routine. A simple system now could prevent missing items, mixed-up parcels and prematurely closed bundles later.
